New chickens Nieuwe kipjes

New Idea's for personalized stamps.

What I see here in The Netherlands is that there is a great issue of personalized stamps. I don't mean the "frame" stamps from PostNL but I have to admit that that has also a great numer of official and marketingissue's. A great offer of stamps means that prices, maybe also because of the economical situation, will stay low, special for new issues. Show you my last stamp with a theme that is a hot item in several countries who have "official" stamps with it.

I received also two stamps today won by a little contest. It is also a special thing and theme. The stamps does have the value Europe 1 and World 1 , to mention that we have no stamps for Europe 2 and World 2, but good for post till 20grams as we know and the normal users of stamps still wondering whats all about.

Can use them next year also...or put in an album...

Rooster Year of the, South Africa

Today a very nice FDC from South Africa with a minisheet from 2005. The year of the Rooster, a nice topic for postadministrations to make -more- money from you and me. I have to say that you can spend as much as you like or can for your hobby. This cover came from a clubmember who did visit South Africa last year. Nice they bougt such things for me when on holiday's. Think its a very nice design of a cock. The cancellation is Bronkhorstspruit, its no chickenname but one of a place in North South-Africa. It has about 27000 inhabitants and was founded in 1858 als Kalkoenkransriver. (Kalkoen=turkey)  Also poultry, but I think thats just accidental.

Denmark stamps

Some new stamps -definitives- of Denmark.Issued 2012. When you collect used stamps, like I do, you need to take some time if you want these. Into a few years they will become common, if you have luck. It is also possible that new -higher- rates will come sooner and the number of these stamps issued stay's low.  What I like with Danish stamps is that they are nice to see and also that there is a difference in facevalue. Here in The Netherlands thats a bit -understatement-  low. There is an overflow of stamps with the same value and the same kader. We have 1 and 2 for local mail and that's all.

Personal stamps from Finland

Here 4 great personalized stamps from Finland. These special issued stamps are for the cellebration of the Finnish railroads this year. They are 150 years young now. You see 4 old postcards from the railwaystation of Kerava. Kerava is a place in the North of Finland and is the first railroads from Helsinki to the north of Finland. The stamps were issued by the residents of Kerava. Good idea to do so, you will have nice stamps and local history too. The 4 cards are between over 100 years till over 50 years old. The station is still the same on all cards, on the last you see two tracks , they move the whole building some meters away to build that track. In the 150 years there were several modernisations done of course.
Thanks to Leo for the nice stamps and the story that goes with them.  On the cover also one stamp, no time for cancellation -again- in Finland....

Poland cover with ship.

Great MiniSheet with a nice boat from Poland.  Do have some friends who collect stamps of this country, maybe one of them is interested. I do have a lot of covers with nice stamps. Always the question, to soak or not to soak....What do you think about that?  These days there are less and less stamps and a cover like this is only one from one collector to another I suppose. If you have family who think about you as a collector you also could receive such a cover. Today a bit rainy here, the grandchildren and their parents will arrive soon, so not much stamping this Easter.  Wish you have a nice one too.

Oud nieuws
