How to save on postal costs.....

This sheet of stamp I bought to mail a packet to my daughter. She and her husband are expecting a baby next month and my wife did make some things we mailed to them. How does it works ? For one pack you can use a special non stamp thing to pay the cost. You have to pay € 6,25 for postal rate. I did use this Scoutingsheet (5x 2 different stamps) total € 7,20.
Now I alway's get my stamps back from family(so alway's use good stamps....) so these also came back. I put this item on EBAY just to see what happens. After 7 day's it was sold for € 9,00 ........!!??? Very nice for me because free shipment and also a small profit on the stamps...

Stampshop

Yesterday I visit the stampshop and bought some nice (empty) stockbooks. When I am at home again I will use them for my Scandinavian stamps ( Sweden and Norway/Finland). They are now in my Denmark stockbook with stamps to trade. The cataloque I did not buy, the "old" one I can still use, better to spend money on stamps.....

On september 20th a new booklet was issued with Jetrix stamps. Today I saw the first one was sold on my old school in Heemstede. Show one of the sheets of the booklet. Maybe you see that our Post use more and more the " personal stamp mode" . You fill in your wish and they, or you can make your own personal stamp. Also an empty example. If you like 10 with your own design, contact me.

To morrow I will visit a stampshop to get some new things. No stamps but stockbook's and maybe a new cataloque from the Netherlands. To make it more difficult for us as collectors they do'nt sell just a cataloque, but also put some extra's in. A " blueprint/blauwdruk" from Michiel de Ruyter, 4 tickets for the great Stamp ting next year and special information in the cataloque.
Will see you later from an other PC than my own.

Virtual stampcollection

Did not hear about it before a few minutes, but when you think about it it's easy and logic:
Virtual stampalbums. You collect nice pictures of stamps you like, or first issue's of stamps with special cancellations. An example you can find here. It's in English and a nice example of a virtual album.

Fair for local clubs

What you see is a picture of the cock-crowing contest ,of course for roosters. On August 25th there was a market for all the clubs in our village and also my club was there. We were there with our family and I did with my son-in-law some counting. Each rooster got one counter. Is was an easy job for us, no crowing at all for our roosters(there were two rounds with 12 roosters) The winner did 16 times in 10 minutes. On this picture you can see my wife and son in law. Next to him it's me, to big for the photo..

Our chairman Kees and a lot of locals looking and listen to the roosters.

Welk type kip ben jij.

Vandaag in de AD van zaterdag een verhaaltje gelezen over de indeling van de homosapiens op de werkvloer in een bepaalt kippentype.
Wil je er meer over weten ?Wat voor type ben ik ? klik hier voor de test.
To let my English readers know that it's about an article in a Dutch paper where you can do a test to find out what kind of chickentype you are at work.

Bangladesh

First chickenstamp from Bangladesh. Very nice one, alway's say that about chickenstamps...
The rooster is looking around when the hen is eating. Thats the same as in real chickenlife. This stamp is one of a serie of 4 stamps. All birds, so no more chickens. Real used, no CTO don't you think too?
