Club Of the Galitos

Great cover and cancellation, thanks to José. Shows a nice cancellation of the Club of the Galitos.Maybe the translation (AltaVista Babel Fish) is not so well but I still show it to you.

CLUB Of the GALITOS, established in 25 of January of 1904, in Aveiro, for a handful of determined men to endow its land with a social institution capable to dinamizar the culture, the sport and the recreativo conviviality, goes to celebrate, during this year of 2004, one hundred years of existence. The ridge marked by the share of the GALITOS in the life of the city of Ria, Joana Saint and Jose Estevão was in such way indelével that it becomes impossible to give, in the present situation, its synthesis. However, for who it does not know the history of the Club, is necessary to say that it was, during its already long life, a permanent symbol of the proper city, stating it and honoring it in its multiple accomplishments, local, as national and not only international.

Did chat tonight with stampfriends, therefore did not have time for a story on my blog.
Even when you don't work its hard to find time for blogging.....not to speak about collecting stamps. Maybe tomorrow some more content.

Dino's

Very nice sheet, not a MS, with 15 great stamps of dinosaurs. I like stamps with old animals we never see as "modern" people. Do you see these stamps on covers? Do you buy such sheets and get parts out of it to stick on your cover(s)? Or do you put them away in some album or desk? Nice there was someone who could remember this scene in Montana, 75 million years ago.... and the one in Colorado 150 million years ago.

Blogger fun and surprises.

Today's mail, the usual advertisment shit, banksheets and a wonderfull postcard from the US of A. Thanks to the readers of my blog who did send me this postcard. On the backsite a chickenstamp, with others and a happy cancel/stamp of a chicken. Also the Wilma Rudolph stamp is on the back. I show you this card because I did not see such card before and as you ,and I know, there are more USA chickenstamps, maybe you have such a card with that chickenstamp in front, like those one's. On the card the story of Wilma so I don't have to tell you that. Makes me happy to find cards or covers in my mail. Blogging is making the world smaller, don't you think?

Blauwdruk/ blueprint

Did promise to show you a "blauwdruk" /Blueprint. This is number 4. Do we need them??
They are no stamps but more , how can we called that, nice prints of old Dutch stamps.
You get them mostly for free (!) if you buy something else or show up in a stampstore at the right time. The store must be a member of the NVPH (Dutch dealer association). They are also the people who put these things in the market.

Catalogue

Do we need new catalogue's every year? Here in The Netherlands we have our new catalogue next Sptember 12th. This book will cost € 24,90 and you will get some presents with this issue.
Blauwdruk nr 5 (will show an example later) and 4 entreecards for next years Stamppassion fair at Den Bosch. When you want to know the price of a stamp these day's maybe it is better to look at the Ebay site or Delcampe. Also local site's and dealers give a lot of information about prices. So I think, catalogue's will be over in the next decade.....

Basketball

I do have, as I called them, some side collections. One of these collections are stamps with a basketball theme. Just show you a stamp from the Philipinas. When you see the stamp it looks like a olympic issue, but there is also information about : 1970 Philatelic week. Also the value 10s, but also the word TEN. A lot of questions for me about this stamp......

Chicken cinderella

New issue next September 3rd in The Netherlands. 3 stamps of € 0,44 use in our country till 20grams cover or card. The weeks of the card is a yearly issue from a miniheet. This time a poem of a famous Dutch writer. Jan Wolkers. But the most important part of the sheet is of course his autograph and drawing of a CHICKEN, which is a tab on the last stamp.

Just can't wait for that 3rd of September...........

Christmas Island

The Territory of Christmas Island is a small, non-self-governing territory of Australia located in the Indian Ocean, 2600 kilometres (1600 mi) northwest of Perth in Western Australia and 500 kilometres (300 mi) south of Jakarta, Indonesia.
It maintains about 1,600 residents who live in a number of "settlement areas" on the northern tip of the island: Flying Fish Cove (also known as Kampong), Settlement, Silver City , Poon Saan and Drumsite.
It has a unique natural topography and is of immense interest to scientists and naturalists due to the number of species of endemic flora and fauna which have evolved in isolation[1] and undisturbed by human habitation.
While there has been mining activity on the island for many years, 65% of its 135 square kilometres (52 sq mi) are now National Park and there are large areas of pristine and ancient rainforest.
Thanks to WIKIPEDIA

Personal stamps

Some nice American personal stamps. I did start to collect them, but only by exchange and maybe some Dutch one's by Ebay. These I got from a friend in the States. They are still on paper, I don't know if they soak easy, maybe somebody can tell us and me. Did made some personal stamps myself and today I put one on EBAY. Always interested what the price would be for a worldwide issue of 20 stamps. Do you have a personal stamp, I like to exchange with mine.
