French Cock

This french stamp of a rooster is a special one. The price you see for it is in Euro's so for our $ readers about $ 24,56. In UV light the stamp will glow gelb, I mean yellow......
Did check my collection but found out that I have two different types. One with more blue in the background and some who are more white, like this one I found in a roundsending of my club.
Maybe roundsending is not a good word for it, please let me know. However I do know there is one chickenstamp more to collect on our Globe.

Stamps to grow.

This is very new. In two different way's. I explain it to you.
First : issue date is May 1st 2007 and I did bought this sheet today.....
Second: on these stamps is a small blister with a flower seed in it. So when you receive such a stamp you have to put it in the ground and give it water. After some time you will have flowers. (could be grass too!?! lol)
There is no guarantee on the result.
On the sheet there is information that these stamps are only for use in our country. Do you think it will give problems when we mail them all over the globe?? Dutch flowers in China, Falklands and The Gambia? If you like one seed I will mail you one.

Chicken Rex ??

In today's newspaper an article about the tyrannosaurus rex. This King of the dino's might be some family from our today's chickens.... This conclusion is the result of investigation from The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston(US of A) A small piece of protein from a 66 million year old skelet from a T-rex did give the information that chickens are relatives from T-Rex. Less family of the big- dino: frogs and the newts. Did'nt I tell you last year??

Great cover with nice Easterwishes on a lovely card inside. Will show and tell the story later of this nice book what was inside too. Thanks to Olga for these nice items. Like Russian folklore stories and of course more when eggs and chickens are involved. Maybe youcan start Google on RYABA to find out more. Have a friend who will love the stamp with the boat and the worldmap on that stamp.

First Day Cover

After 200 postages and more it is possible you have seen this one before. Why I show it to you? It is my favorite FDC, because with an original drawing there must be only one of them. In The Netherlands we don't have such "homemade" First Day Covers. Only official ones. The last 25-30 years they are not so wanted anymore, maybe to much "philatelic products" on the market. I would like more of these covers with chickens, but where to find??

Do you have this stamp????

Alway's nice to receive a enveloppe with a chickenstamp in it with the question "Do you have this one". Thanks BenoƮt.
I always say, no I don't had this one but now I have..... Maybe for the second time but that's not the question, is it? A great stamp from a Turkish Rooster and with a real cancellation on it. So this stamp was used as it was made for. Maybe if we all collect such stamps the number of unnessecary issues will go down. Here in The Netherlands we will lose a lot of mail men and women in the next years. Less snail-mail they say, more E-mail, but also a lot more issues of stamps..???!?? Do you understand this???

Me and my friends

Alsway's nice to receive a great card from a friend who is alway's looking for chickencards for me. Was going to write "This rooster with a pair of Jacks", but when I looked it up in my dictionary I find out that the rooster is on of the Jacks. Still learning every day....Don't think he is a competitor for the lady involved. Thanks John James for this wonderfull card.
